Q.Hey my dad runs an at home buisness in his basement, but his basement is completely trashed. Soo i was wondering if anyone knew of a remodeling contest that i can send in pictures to try and win. Plus i live in NY so if they cant travel here to remodel then they cant help me.
A.If I were you I would enter the HGTV dream home contest for your dad...The home is absolutely gorgeous & I'm sure that if your dad won he would be so happy he'd buy you a new car & who knows what else!! Feel free to check our website for design ideas on your basement in the meantime...
1.00Remodeling Basement to Marble Floor?
Q.I am doing remodeling on my basement. I put Marble on it, but still isn't dry after 1 week?? is it normal?
A.No this is not normal, I'm not sure what kind of flooring you have there need more info. but it sounds like something went wrong and you will probably have a messy clean up.
1.00I am remodeling a basement into a hangout what can i do with it?
Q.I have an old basement we are remodeling and i want it to be a really cool hangout spot me and other people can stay at. i need some ideas of what to do with it because i am clueless. it is a pretty big space maybe like 12 by 40 (it's a total guess) but i really need an idea fast!
A.You could put a bar in it or a pool table. or both ummm maybe a games room kinda thing?
1.00Remodeling my basement, can i use laminate flooring?
Q.The sub pump in my basement failed twice in my 12 years living in this home, so im not sure if i can use laminate flooring in my basement, the wood kind. i really dont want to put tile down there
A.Carpet is the most preferred option for the basement flooring due to its low cost, softness and sound muffling quality. It is comfortable to use and provides warmth in winter.
Cement flooring is also a popular choice for basement. In fact, it is the most affordable and durable materials till date.
laminate flooring probably isn't a great choice because water could lift them.
1.00Estimate of basement remodeling? DIY?
Q.I was thinking about moving into my grandmas basement a year or so from now. But before I do that, I wanted to remodel the basement a little to make it of a more livable area.
What I was thinking was just putting up drywall on the walls and ceiling, soft padding under the carpet and then some decent carpet. And then some little things (that won't cost too much) that will make it a little bit more interesting.
Her basement is about 550 square ft. I live in Ohio and I was just wondering a rough estimate of how much that would cost. Thanks.
Q.I really want to get my basement done but i want to hire someone to do it for me and the way i want it. Do you know any good companies or people? Oh and can you give me what the cost might add up to?
thanks
A.I would love to recommend someone to you but I don't know where you are. I own a company. We are a design and build company. We have in house architects and interior designers. Plus we have our own construction crews. They are great! check out our site at www.dwelldesignbuild.com If you tell me what you want, and how big the basement is, I can give you a general idea of how much it will cost. Hope that helps!
1.00How much would basement remodeling cost?
Q.Ok so I have concrete walls in my basement I want that took out, and get new walls. I want the windows done, and new flooring and ceiling, has anyone ever has this done? I want to know about how much all this would take to do it?
Also forgot to say it's only two rooms, I want to make one into a bedroom and the other into a living room, fairly medium sized areas for both!!! (:

1.00Remodeling a basement?
Q.I'm considering remodeling my basement and I have a few questions.I want to put in a movietheatre and just a general family area with maybe a bar and a couple of games. Any idea how much this would put me down for?(New Jersey)
Everything....building materials electonics the whole deal
A.I would make sure your basement will not get water before refinishing it. If you already have a sump pump or drain tiles, great, but if not, I would seriously consider adding one or both. Otherwise you could ruin carpeting, drywall, etc. with the first minor seepage.
I've seem basements done for $15,000 to $25,000, but it really depends on the extent. I would ask a few contractors for ideas so you get a general ballpark of how much of it you want to remodel and what you'll put in there. Try to draw it on paper, too. Will you leave some as storage? Will you have to move pipes to make headroom, etc.?

We are in need of a major renovation in the basement of my grandfathers home! I think there is mold and he has a fair amount of debris cluttering the space. I would like for this to be a space for my growing family to spread out maybe twin bedrooms and a sitting area. Thanks
